Volunteer Appreciation!

We LOVE Volunteers!

We at Skowhegan Outdoors would like to thank all of our volunteers. Each of our volunteers brings unique passions and expertise to the FREE outdoor programming we offer in the Somerset County area. Their volunteering builds community and encourages an appreciation for beautiful Maine outdoors. Thank you, volunteers!

Constance Woodworth has been leading guided Forest Bathing. She invites participants to slow down and be at one with the earth, leaving many with a sense of calm and clarity. Through programs with us, she is building her repertoire of clients for her Nature & Forest Therapy Connections company “Worth It!”

Bill Baker and Chris Sawyer volunteered time at kayak roll clinics this spring at Waterville’s AYCC. Their patience and support allowed many participants to achieve successful roles in their kayaks and build confidence in their abilities.

Ann Dorney is our resident birder and wildflower guide. Her knowledge of Maine’s ecosystem is a delight to listen to and learn from as you walk around and notice all the little wild things with her.

Kate Drummond volunteers at various programs with Skowhegan Outdoors and directs Skowhegan High School’s Outing Club. Willingness to work alongside us has allowed more youth, including those otherwise considered disadvantaged, with outdoor opportunities.

Patty Van Horn can be seen at many community events. She regularly volunteers to maintain the Philbrick and Debe River Trails. And she is currently assisting with renovating Skowhegan Outdoor’s new Basecamp on Water Street.

Thank you all for your willingness and your service. Your community appreciates you!
