We’re Moving to 16 Island Avenue!

Skowhegan Outdoors is relocating to a new home at 16 Island Avenue in Skowhegan.

The gear library is temporarily closed during the move and gear reservations are paused. Our free programs are still happening — watch here for our reopening date!

Our New Home

The upward momentum and growth of the Skowhegan Outdoors program have prompted us to move into a larger, more accessible, and more visible space at 16 Island Avenue in Skowhegan. We’re creating a welcoming community gathering place where Skowhegan Outdoors will expand our gear library and host free, outdoor-focused programs for all ages.

What Basecamp Offers the Community

  • A visible, easily accessible home for our gear library — 200+ items to borrow
  • Walk-in gear lending with expanded hours
  • An outdoor recreation hub for clinics and workshops
  • A stocked resource library with local trail info and area maps
  • A welcoming place to share a love of the outdoors

Programming Includes

  • Bike repair & maintenance training
  • Cross-country ski tune-up clinics
  • Knot-tying and fly-tying workshops
  • Outdoor-themed film screenings
  • Youth engagement activities
  • Wellness programming for businesses & organizations
  • Gear consignment

Through increased visibility and a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere, our new location will strengthen our ability to serve regional residents with free programming and gear — and become an important third space and the hub of outdoor recreation in Somerset County.

FREE – Somerset County Residents:
A one-year membership to Skowhegan Outdoors Basecamp.

$100/year – Maine Resident Membership:
A one-year membership for Maine residents outside Somerset County.

$50/season – Summer Resident Membership:
For seasonal residents who call Maine home part of the year.

$15/day – Out-of-State Passes:
Choose 1-Day, 3-Day, or 6-Day options.
