Come along with Skowhegan Outdoors to local farm and business Strawberry Hill Farms, where we’ll get a glimpse into the fascinating world of maple syrup production. Owner Jeremy Steeves will walk us through the procedure for collecting, purifying, dehydrating, and storing this much-loved treat. After his talk, we’ll take a stroll along the trails behind the processing buildings through one of the beautiful maple forests where he harvests his syrup. This program is great for ages 10+.
We will meet at Strawberry Hill Farms. See the location pin for help navigating there. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to check-in as we will begin the tour promptly at 12 p.m. Weather in April can be unpredictable; please dress warmly, wear boots appropriate for snow or mud, bring water and snacks, and wear your face mask. If needed, you will have the opportunity to request winter clothing ahead of time provided by the Skowhegan Outdoors Community Gear Library.
