Wesserunsett Stream Preserve Sneak Peek with Somerset Woods Trustees

Join Skowhegan Outdoors and representatives of Somerset Woods Trustees (SWT) for an early look at SWT’s next property acquisition.  We will tour a portion of the preliminary trail system through the woods along Wesserunsett Stream.  Participants should wear rugged footwear and be prepared for uneven terrain. Trail construction is not yet complete – nor is fundraising – but with community support we will be able to open these in-town trails for all to enjoy early next year.

Somerset Woods Trustees is a volunteer-driven land conservation organization serving Somerset County. SWT has forever conserved nearly 2,000 acres for sustainable forestry, protection of wildlife habitat, and public recreation. We routinely partner with our communities to provide nature connection and recreational access for all – in Skowhegan these collaborative projects include Cleaver Landing and Kennebec Banks picnic area, the memorial ball field, and miles of trails for year-round enjoyment.
