DESCRIPTION:Skowhegan Outdoors and Main Street Skowhegan are excited to announce the first annual Kennebec Paddlethon! Join us September 5 for a guided river trip where participants will enjoy the challenge of a Marathon (13 river miles) or Fun Run (6 river miles) paddle\, while learning about the past\, present and future significance of the Kennebec River and its surrounding land. The paddle will be guided from Madison to Skowhegan by Skowhegan Outdoors Rec Coaches\, Emma Corwin and Mara Kavanaugh. In addition to a great day on the water\, participants will enjoy “raft up chats” with local historians along the way who will educate on the rich history of and around the Kennebec River. This paddle has options for all paddlers\, from first timers to experienced. We hope you will join us!\n\nThis is a free event for the community. Yoga has been a grounding force in her life over the past eleven years and is excited to be several months along in her journey to becoming a 200 hr ERYT Yoga Alliance certified teacher through Sundara Yoga. SUMMARY:Tumbledown Hike
DESCRIPTION:Join Skowhegan Outdoors for a group hike up Tumbledown Mountain! Emma Corwin\, Skowhegan Outdoors Rec Coach\, will lead us to the summit for spectacular views of the Western Mountains Region. This hike features three peaks\, 700-foot cliffs\, and a mountain pond. \nThe coaches will be meeting at the Main Street Skowhegan (MSS) Office at 7:30 a.m.\, where we will start our caravan to the location. The hike will start at 9 a.m. at Brook Trailhead\, the easternmost trailhead and will be over five miles. It is rated as advanced/difficult. Ladders are present so dogs are not recommended.
