DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, May 23rd\, 2026 | 8:00am – 5:00pm\nCrusher Pool\, Lower Dead River\, Lower Kennebec River\nA full-day introduction to whitewater kayaking fundamentals including paddle strokes\, river features\, eddy turns\, ferrying\, and safety concepts in a controlled river environment. \nREGISTER HERE! \nProgram Type: Full-Day Guided Experience \nCost: $100 (under 18 are free!) \nIncludes: \n\nProfessional instruction\nWhitewater kayak\, paddle\, helmet\, PFD\nTransportation from Skowhegan & gear transport\nLunch\n\nWhat to Expect \nThis introductory whitewater kayaking program covers the fundamentals needed to begin paddling moving water safely. Instruction includes paddle strokes\, river features\, eddy turns\, ferrying\, and basic river safety concepts. Participants practice skills in a controlled river environment with close instructor support. \nWe will begin the morning at Crusher Pool\, working on fundamentals. After lunch\, we’ll transition to the Dead River and confluence with the Kennebec River for some down-river paddling skills. \nNo prior whitewater experience is required.
