DESCRIPTION:Meet @ MSS office 9 a.m.\nBelgrade\, Maine\nProgram Limit: 25 participants \nPreregister for the program here: https://forms.gle/D8yY6GFqDadBXUda8 \nJoin Skowhegan Outdoors for a family-friendly hike up Sanders Hill in the Kennebec Highlands Conserved Land in Rome\, Maine! On this hike\, participants can expect a gradual hike on a loop trail to the summit and a rewarding view once we get there. The total loop is approximately 3 miles and could take up to 5 hours depending on the speed of our all-ages group. This program is appropriate for all ages and abilities\, but participants should be comfortable moving for 3-5 hours on uneven terrain\, outdoors\, and uphill for half of the hike.  \nSkowhegan Outdoors facilitators will call participants before this program to ensure preparedness. Please arrive at the MSS office 15 minutes early to check in. We will leave promptly at 9 a.m.. \nWeather in April can be unpredictable. Please dress warmly in plenty of wool or synthetic layers\, wear comfortable\, closed-toe shoes\, bring water\, snacks\, a substantial lunch\, and wear a face mask. DESCRIPTION:Program Limit: 20 people. Participants will be emailed about attendance two days prior to program. \nPreregister here: https://forms.gle/gDGZyTmfJqXyARdE8 \nJoin Skowhegan Outdoors for a fun\, back-to-basics afternoon clinic on cross-country skiing! We will go over technique\, healthy warm-up activities\, and play games to practice getting comfortable on skinny skis. This clinic will be great for folks on skis for the first time\, folks looking for a refresh\, or someone just looking for a fun time to be outdoors and meet new people in the community! We will run through the clinic and then have the opportunity to ski on the beautifully groomed trails at Lakewood. \nPlease dress warmly\, bring water and snacks\, and wear your face mask. You and your family are welcome to sign up for one block from 11:00 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. or 1:15 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. \nJoin Skowhegan Outdoors and R.E.A.C.H. After School Program (21st Century Community Learning Center Grant) for Family Sled Day! You and your family are invited to sled at Lake George\, West\, try out snowshoeing on the Lake George trail system (guided snowshoe strolls will go out on the hour)\, and enjoy hot cocoa with the community. We will have plenty of sleds\, snowshoes\, and cocoa to go around\, just make sure to preregister in advance to reserve your spot as we anticipate this program to fill up quickly! \nCOVID-19 PROTOCOLS IN PLACE FOR ALL SKOWHEGAN OUTDOORS PROGRAMS: All attendees will be required to preregister for Family Sled Day in advance so we can be sure to have enough program materials and space for all participants. DESCRIPTION:Please preregister for this program here: https://forms.gle/gDGZyTmfJqXyARdE8 \nJoin Skowhegan Outdoors for a snowshoe stroll to Moxie Falls in The Forks. We will meet at the Main Street Skowhegan office (48 court street) at 9:00 a.m. and then caravan to the trailhead. During this outing\, our outdoor recreation facilitators will share their expertise and offer tips for experienced and novice snowshoers alike. The hike will be a little over two miles with moderate changes in elevation. This trail is perfect for all ages and skill levels and is pet friendly (dogs must be leashed at all times).  \nPlease dress warmly\, bring water\, lunch\, snacks\, and snowshoes.
